JSMHM is moving our traditional Labor Day Concert featuring Dixie Dawn, from Sunday to Saturday night this year, They were formed in 1981, and in its heyday, the group enjoyed playing at premier tourist attractions in North Carolina as well as opening for top names in country music, such as Alabama and the Oak Ridge Boys. With their diverse musical concerts filled with medleys, comedy, great playing and singing, they put on a show that continues to have a following of loyal fans from all over the South. David Johnson is busy selecting favorite country songs that celebrate our country's hard workingmen and women. This concert features Dixie Dawn's "faithful five" members; David Johnson, Darrel Bryant, Billy C. Smith, Ronnie Black and Kevin Rash, plus they will once again be joined by Retha Davis, who this year will cover the songs of hard working women!
